New Books To The Store: 2012

Corrupt to the Core-Memoirs of a Health Canada Whistleblower-by Shiv Chopra. Shiv and his 5 colleagues took on the powers at Health Canada's food inspection bereau by refusing to approve various harmful drugs such as Bovine Growth Hormone, Baytril and Revlor-H, for use in meat and milk production. This is a very interesting and informative book.  This book was presented with the 2011 Integrity award November 24th, 2011. It can be found under the Health Section.

Wakaw-A Prairie Lake Town  1900-2011 by Craig Brunanski. This book was given great reviews by our local author and promoted of books, Kay McCracken. It is a novel 'Real Wakaw people, along with fictional characters and events, are combined to create an intimate portrait of the town.' Wakaw is in Saskatchewan. Found under the General Ficiton section.

 

Tru Tactics And Rescue Unit-by Andrew F. Maksymchuk from Vernon, BC. This is Andrew's second memoir of his time with Ontario's Police Force. Andrew is working on his 3rd book. Found under the non-fiction section.

 

Snaphots- A Story of Love, Loss and Life by Cathy Sosnowsky. Cathy and her husband have just moved to Salmon Arm from the Coast. 

The Book Has Arrived: Baby Brawn Basketball Star-after his successful 1st book, Baby Brawn Hockey Star, Wilf Pauls (with Cathy Steeves as illustrator) has expanded into Basketball. Found under the Children's section.

And local author from Grindrod, BC, Bekky Crandlemire has brought in her book, Raine--a young adult fantasy that she already has accepted by Amazon. The book is a 2 in 1-Unaware and Unveiled and Bekky is currently working on her next book. This is an epic adventure with lots of suspense, action and romance. Found under the Fantasy section.

Trails That Begin At Trail's End by Robin Burgess-a local author and his second book. Found under the Mystery section.

Terry Greenhough has brought in day planners, journals Garden Diaries-for that gardener in your life who seems to have everything-with his artwork displayed on the covers. Found in the Artist's section.

 Canadian Photoscene have brought  in their 2012 calendars.

'True Accounts Of A Cruel Time'-From Communist Russia To Nazi Germany To Freedom In Canada-The Life of Edward Schmidt. From the Audio Tapes of Edward Schmidt written and edited by Shelley Clack. Both are local to Salmon Arm, BC.

'The Last Archangel-Part One: Faithful Amidst The Fallen' by local Salmon Arm author, Elliott Cross. This is the first in a series of Fantasy books about the bitter war between Gabriel's Faithful and Lucifer's Fallen over who will control the Powers of Creation. Elliott is also working on his second book.

'British Columbia Trails Heading North' and 'In The Shadow of The Peaks-Rocky Mountain Tales'-both books are by author Lloyd Jeck, who resides in Clearwater, BC. Both can be found under the Non-Fiction section and describe some interesting BC history.

'Mara Reflections'-the History and Biographies of Local families who helped to settle and develop Mara, BC. Mara recently celebrated their centennial this year. Book can be found in the Non-Fiction section of the website.
